Digital Expertise: records management (archives and record keeping technologies), history of technologies, media studies, information and technology policy

Stacy Wood's research agenda is focused on the policies and practices around records produced by complex socio-technical-legal systems. This agenda has expressed itself in several collaborative research projects, professional experiences, and individual research projects. Her work is grounded in Archival Studies and theoretically informed by her background in Media Studies, Science and Technology Studies, Gender Studies and Information Studies. Wood's research is also guided by the principal that socio-historical-cultural context is paramount to the ways in which people understand, access and use information. With this in mind, she employs qualitative and humanistic research methodologies in her research.
